Language Proficiency

Language proficiency is the ability of an individual to use language with a level of accuracy that transfers meaning in production and comprehension. Different
universities and colleges have different language proficiency requirements, and as Sharz, we help prepare you for the different language tests you may be required to
take as part of your application.

Sharz is a registered member of the British Council’s IELTS Programme and also a partner of LanguageCert.

Insurance support

We are as passionate about your student’s experience, and this includes offering your support in essential services such as Study Insurance. We partner with leading Insurance Providers such as Study and Protect to offer you world-class Insurance solutions for your education.

Visa assistance

We support students who apply through us with their visa application process. During this process, we review the documents provided by the students and ensure they have the highest chance of being successful with their visas.

Accommodation assistance

In addition to Application Processing, we also help students find their preferred accommodation options in their destination countries.

Exam testing facilities

Students who wish to use our facilities to do their tests, such as English Language tests, can do so at our offices in Kampala. Students are encouraged to check and book with us prior, as facility fees might apply.

1. Why should I study abroad?

Studying abroad helps you to learn new languages, appreciate other cultures, overcome challenges of living in another country and gain a greater understanding of the world.

2. Which is the best study abroad destination for me?

We represent Universities in Canada, USA, UK, Germany, Malaysia, Ireland, Cyprus and many other countries. But the best study destination for you depends on a lot of factors, including your grades, budget, preference in terms of culture and climate, e.t.c. The best way to choose the best study destination for you is to visit us and have a chat with our career advisors who will give you a walk-through on what your options are and guide you on University selection.
3. What is the process of applying to a university?

Different universities have different application processes. If you choose to work through an Education Placement agency, such as Sharz, Student Counselors will sit with you to identify the University of choice and select the preferred course. We then handle the application process for you.

Please note that Sharz does not charge any fees for helping students at Undergraduate level or lower with their College/University applications.
4. What courses do International Students study?

International Education offers various world-class academic programs across all fields of study, of course depending on the University you select. Please refer to the website of your university of choice to see different academic programmes offered.
5. What are the qualifications or entry requirements needed to study abroad?

The entry requirements vary depending on the University you’re applying to and the course you would like to study. Please visit our career advisors at our offices in Kampala for further guidance.
6. How will I know if my child has been accepted?

You will receive an offer letter as soon as your child has been accepted by the University.
7. Can I get any scholarships? What scholarships am I eligible for and how can I get them?

The institutions we partner with generally don’t offer 100% scholarships. But from time to time we’re able to get discount offers from various universities that are merit-based, e.g. based on a strong academic record or strong sporting skills. Such opportunities will always be communicated to you by our teams if they’re available at the point of your application.
8. Am I entitled to student loans?

No. We don’t have financing options for students at this point.
